Maestro Ali Akbar Khan, the greatest living interpreter of Indian music, composer, and Roop Verma's principle teacher since 1960.

Maestro Ravi Shankar, the greatest and well known sitarist, composer and teacher. The foremost cultural ambassador of Indian music in the west, he has been Roop Verma's second teacher.

Swami Shyam, the great master of Yoga, Meditation and the Science of Life, lives in the Himalayas of India, and is the author of many books on Yoga and Philosophy. Swami Shyam has been Roop Verma's teacher since 1967.

Swami Brahmananda Saraswati (Dr. Ramamurti Mishra, MD), the great Sanskrit scholar and pioneer of Yoga in the West, founded Ananda Ashram in Monroe, New York in 1964 as the Country Retreat for the purpose of self analysis, study and evolution of human awareness.
